WILFRED NOAH MENARD (1882 - 1944)


Wilfred Noah Menard was born on June 3, 1882 in North Stukely, Canada.* He was baptized on June 4.* His godparents were Joseph Gendron and Agnes Menard. His parents were Denis and Henriette (Gaucher).
* North Stukely became Bonsecours in 1941.

 
When he was 4 years old, Wilfred and some of his younger siblings immigrated to Smithfield, RI (Georgiaville) from Canada in 1886.

Wilfred married Delina Lessard* on April 15, 1901 at St. Michael's in Georgiaville, RI.  On June 25, 1902, Florilda was born.  She lived only a few months dying on August 14, 1902.
 
On December 8, 1903, Joseph Isidore was born in Georgiaville, RI.  (He married Aurore Giguere on February 25, 1924.  They had two sons, Oscar and Ernest.  They divorced on July 17, 1937.  On July 31, 1937 he married Betha Cyawnoski.  He divorced her on January 20, 1955 and married Albina Tucker on June 16, 1956.
He died  December 13, 1960 in Woonsocket, RI.)

On October 19, 1905 Bertha (Blanche) was born. 


Delina died on May 27, 1907 at 25 years of age.


On September 15, 1907 Wilfred married Rosalie Morin at St. Michael's in Georgiaville, RI.*


Wilfred and Rosalie returned to Canada where Wilfred worked in lumber camps and was promoted to Shipper of logs. (There is no record that Joseph I. and Blanche were taken along.)

There Wilfred Oscar was born on July 12, 1909 at Notre Dame de Victoire Church in Levis, Canada.*
They returned to the U.S. after a short stay, leaving St. Anselme, Canada by train and coming to (East Douglas) Manchaug, MA in December, 1910. They left Manchaug. MA for Woonsocket, RI on December 17, 1910.  Wilfred was a laborer.

On October 4, 1911 Rose Marie was
born. At this time the family lived at 53 Hope St., Woonsocket, RI.  At the age of 17 Mary Rose married a 23 year old farmer, Francis Joseph Briggs of Blackstone, MA on October 1, 1928.  Unfortunately she died in childbirth on February 7, 1929 at the age of 18.

A mystery surrounds Aurore. It seems that she is pregnant. Was there another child?

Rosalie died on July 14, 1937 in Woonsocket, RI.

On April 23, 1938, Wilfred married Anna Barbrick at St. Augustine's in Millville, MA.
