Louis Berube

Louis Bérubé (1803 - 1871 )

Louis was born on August 25, 1803 and baptised the next day at Ste. Anne de la Pocatiere church in Quebec, Canada.

His father was Henry Bérubé.  His mother was Marie Charlotte Santier dit Comtois.

He married Mathilde Gagnon (1812-1869) on October 18, 1831 at St. Andre, Co. Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada.  Mathilde's parents were Francois Clement Gagnon (b.1778) and Marie-Reine Morin (b.1783). 

Henry, Simeon and Andre Berube were attendants.*  


A year later, Louis Berube was born on July 19,1832 at St. Andre, Quebec, Canada.  He died a month later on August 21.
His godfather was Henry Berube.* 


Guillaume was born and baptized on the 3rd of August, 1833 at St. Andre, Quebec, Canada.  He died August 30, 1858.

Caroline was born February 5, 1835 at St. Andre, Quebec.  Her godparents were Simeon Berube and Celeste Berube.* She married Nicolas Mercier on the 2nd of February, 1864 at St Brigitte's Church, Maria, Quebec.* [Caroline's signature is on Marie Berube's (child of Louis and Philomene Masse.) baptism record.]

Augule was born on February 19, 1837.

Louis was born on March 7, 1840.  He married Philomene in Marie, Bonaventure Co. on December 16, 1861.  They had 15 children.  He died on January 12, 1925 in Maria.

Jeremie was born August 17, 1841 in St. André, Quebec.

Alfred was born October 8, 1846 and baptized at St. Joseph Church in Carleton, Quebec.  He married  Emilie Ferland on October 10, 1871 at the Church of Ste. Brigitte in Maria, Quebec.

Jean Théophile was born January 20, 1848 in Miguasha.  He married Elizabeth Mercier on march 5, 1878 in Maria.  They had 14 children.  He died December 30, 1900 in Maria.

Marie Clementine was born August 3, 1849 in Migusasha.  She married Joseph Mercier on January 28, 1873 at St. Brigitte's Church in Maria, Quebec. They had at least one child who died in childbirth.  She died November 11, 1904 in Maria.  

Jean William was born December 16, 1851 in Carleton, St. Joseph Parish, Bonaventure Co., P.Q.  He died April 11, 1930 in Maria.

Israel was born May 24,, 1854 in Carletonm St. Joseph, Bonaventure Co., P.Q.  He was married to Marie Louise Bujold on September 17, 1906 at the Cathedral St. Jacques in Montreal. They had at least 3 children.

Mathilde died April 2, 1869 and was buried the next day at the Church of Ste. Brigitte, Maria, Quebec.

Louis died on July 29, 1871 and was buried July 31 at the Church of Ste. Brigitte, Maria, Quebec.
