CELINA GUILLEMETTE (1866-1946)

Celina was born December 15, 1866 in l'Ile Verte, Labrador, Canada. Her parents were Adrien Guillemette and Sophronie Simard. 
 

According to Memere Berube, Celina's mother died in childbirth. She was raised by local Native Americans until she was old enough to go to school. She would brag that she would walk barefoot in the snow and never got ill.

Celina loved to wear jewelry and it is said that even on her deathbed at l'Hospice St. Antoine she was wearing lots of jewelry.

In July of 1935 she was living alone at 32 Brook St, Woonsocket, RI.

Celina died at age 80 on December 27, 1946 in Woonsocket, RI.
