About 1926
In 1938 she entered the convent of the Sisters of the Presentation, a teaching order based in Canada. She stayed in the convent for more than 6 years. She taught school in Maine and in Canada.

Returning to Woonsocket, she worked at Riverside Worsted Co. at 84 Fairmount Street. A year or so after leaving the convent Jeannette married Ernest Albert Menard on December 29, 1945 at St. Ann's Church, Woonsocket, RI.
Attending them were Raymond Duquette and Alpherie Giguere.
